iTunes buy-button not working anymore?

Running Mac OS X 10.5.8 because it is still perfect for me.

In late 2012 the Buy button on the iTunes store suddenly stopped working. This meant I was not able to send money to Apple for music downloads.

Contacted Apple Support who told me the only solution is to upgrade OS or get new laptop.

This week I saw online that others have had the same experience and in a forum I discovered that the solution is actually:

1. To ignore the buy button next to the song you want.

2. Drag the track you want to your PURCHASED list.

3. The track will appear in the Purchased list with a buy button next to it. This button works.

To make you feel better you can download my music from bandcamp via:

Hi there! This weblog publish could not be written much much better! Taking a look at this publish reminds me of my previous roommate! He continually kept talking about this. I will send this publish to him. Pretty sure he will have an excellent study. Thanks for sharing!

This is not a final solution, this is just a way to work around the problem! I can’t believe nobody has a solution!!

With the buy button not working it means I can’t buy albums at their intended price and for an album with 9 songs costing $6.99 it means I must drag each song for $1.00 across to make a new total of $9.00. Unreasonable… Bullshit. A $3.00 difference may not seem worth arguing for but it certainly counts in the long run! And gifting does not work either for those spending their money on a gift cards…

There must be a solution so please someone help. In the meantime I have tried everything from updating itunes to furious clicking on the ‘buy’ button, but still I can’t get this fixed… erughh.

      Hi,
Thanks for your comment. I’m interested, do you suppose that the buy button problem is now affecting more modern OS’s? (this problem was something I experienced in late 2012 and I had assumed it was all about my old operating system). Best of luck.
