Weeping ZoomPosted: August 16, 2011
If you like to channel hop I recommend changing stations whenever they do a Weeping Zoom.
A Weeping Zoom is when the camera senses impending tears and very abrubtly invades the personal space of the emotional person.
It is a strange and awkward device which has been around for about 20 years. I even saw them do it to John Peel when he was choked up talking about his mildly wayward son.
When it happens it feels only as if the camera person has suddenly woken up from a snooze.
If you use this moment as a trigger to take your custom elsewhere you get some idea of how many Weeping Zooms there are.
SO: WEEPING ZOOM = END OF DOCUMENTARY.
ALSO: Turn off the sound for adverts and look out of the window.
